Day 5 Mt Desert Island to Kennebunkport

Today we went to Acadia National Park in Maine. It is the 3d largest island on the east coast. No, I don't know whatt the larger ones are but would guess Long Island for one. On Mt Desert Island is Mt Cadillac which is the highest point on the east coast. Today was a foggy day and on top of the mountain all you could see at times was the fog if the wind didn't blow you over first. It seemed like gayle force winds. We also went to Bar Harbor, also on the island. We then headed south and found the oldest existing fort in the USA, Ft Western in Augusta, Maine. It is on the Kennebec River and was built in 1947. The main building is the original and has survived thru out the years. The out buildings are replicas but are supposed to be true and exact copies and built in exactly where the originals were built. Next stop was Kennebunkport Maine. You may recognize the name because President Bush used to come to his house in Kennebunkport when he took time away from the Oval Office. Again it was quite foggy so the pictures of his house are shrouded in fog,
