Day 8 CT, NY, PA

We started the day by going to Hartford, CT, a very beautiful city and the site of the oldest statehouse in the USA. Right next to the statehouse is Bushnell, park. Right down town. We stopped at the George Washington headquarters national park, and then on to Bethlehem, PA the former home of Bethlehem, Steel. We're in Allentown, PA for the night and had dinner at a 50's diner. It was actually built in the 50's and still looks great. The food was just as good. We also visited Orange County Choppers and Mark Twain's House. It was a busy day. Hope you enjoy.

  • From the earliest days of the Hartford settlement, the site of the Old State House has served as the magnetic center of the region we know today as Connecticut. The earliest colonists were drawn here, nurturing ideas of freedom and self-government, and in the wilderness that once pervaded, America’s earliest constitution and democracy were born.
